It’s a picturesque hidden gem; an “if you know, you know” kind of destination that folks have been living in and visiting for generations.
The Township was established in 1980, and so was its logo. After 44 years, it was time for a change. The Archipelago needed a way to better connect with its diverse ratepayers, so we delivered a refreshed brand identity and communications strategy tailored to its unique communities.

How does a Township communicate with residents spread across thousands of islands? That’s the question we set out to answer.
We started by diving in — literally and figuratively — talking with staff, Council members, seasonal and permanent residents, and local associations to learn what mattered most and how they wanted to hear from their Township. We even took to the water for a boat tour, because in The Archipelago, that’s just part of the commute.
From there, we built an omnichannel communications plan to meet people where they are. Print, digital, and social, all working together to make important information clear, consistent, and easy to find.
Next, we created a refreshed brand identity that was cohesive, memorable, and true to The Archipelago’s roots. The updated crest maintains its familiar elements of water, shoreline, and forest, emphasizing the Township’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Launched in 2025, the new brand was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from residents, staff, and Council alike. The process itself was deeply collaborative, shaped by the voices of those who call The Archipelago home.
The result? A clear, unified brand and communications system that reflects the Township’s values and connects a community spread across the water.
